ATOM Empowers Digital Education through ICT Lab Equipment Donation

Yangon, Myanmar, 3rd September 2025 – ATOM, Myanmar’s leading 4.5G VoLTE provider, brings its latest CSR initiative, aligning with its “Digitalization of Education” pillar by donating fully equipped Information & Communication Technology (ICT) tools to Basic Education High School (Sub) Ngan Tayy Yat in Mawlamyine, with an investment of 45 million MMK.

By providing Information & Communication Technology (ICT) facilities, ATOM aims to bridge the digital gap, empower communities facing challenges in accessing technology. Moreover, it is also aimed to equip the next generation with essential digital skills for a brighter future. The essential ICT Lab equipment includes 10 Laptops with necessary items, 1 Voltage Stabilizer, 1 Digital Printer, 1 Inverter Type 1.5 HP Air Conditioner, 2 Broadband Connections with 1-year Service and 1 Projector ensuring a conducive learning environment for over 840 students.

With access to modern computer systems and digital tools, students can engage in hands-on learning which is an approach proven to enhance critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy. Through these competencies, students will gain good practice in adaptive, creative, and collaborative thinking. BEHS (Sub) Ngan Tayy serves as a foundational learning institution in Mawlamyine, supported by 35 committed teachers educating over 840 students. The donation is implemented through ATOM’s mission to ensure equal access to digital education across diverse communities.

U Thein Hoke, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of ATOM also said that “We always explore the communities in need and support through our three main CSR pillars. This time, under “Digitalization of Education” CSR effort, we found out this BEHS school which need access to quality digital education. It is our honor to implement this contribution, and we will continue to keep our people-first culture and create sustainable inclusive growth for the community”.

Approximately 20 ATOM employees cooperated in facilitating the installations and ensuring seamless operation at the school. In addition to the Information & Communication Technology (ICT) tools, 6 books, and 2 pens, and light refreshments have been provided for 200 students.

Daw Han Win Yi, Principal of Basic Education High School (Sub) Ngan Tayy Yat, expressed “At Ngan Tayy (Sub) BEHS, many outstanding students come from families facing financial difficulties, while the school continues to have significant ICT needs. We are very grateful for ATOM Myanmar’s donation of laptops and essential tools that are truly valuable for our students. This marks ATOM’s first Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Lab Equipment donation in Mawlamyine, extending previous efforts in Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw and Shan State, thereby broadening regional reach.
