In celebration of World Youth Skills Day, we are proud to share a recap of ATOM’s ongoing Technology Trainee Program (TTP). Initiated in September 2022, the TTP is a one-year skills development program for local youths with a background in IT or technology to enable them to be industry-ready.
Eight trainees aged between 18 to 24 years have been given the opportunity to gain essential skills and knowledge to pursue a career in the ever-evolving telecommunications industry. The program is also bridging the digital skills gap, fostering innovation, and nurturing entrepreneurship among these talented youths.
The TTP covers training and exposure to critical areas of the telecommunications industry, including Network Strategy and Analytics, Core Telecom Operations, Business Security, IT Application Operations, IT Development and Delivery, Charging and Billing, as well as Radio and Energy Management. By imparting knowledge and expertise in these areas, we are empowering trainees to build a diverse skill set that is relevant to the industry's current needs. In addition, the trainees are gaining skills in the following areas:
Project Management: Trainees are equipped with valuable project management skills, enabling them to effectively plan, organize, and execute projects.
Business Presentation: The TTP emphasised the development of business presentation skills, enabling participants to articulate their ideas, engage with stakeholders, and deliver compelling presentations.
Problem Solving and Critical Thinking: Our trainees are exposed to real-world challenges and encouraged to analyse, strategize, and develop innovative solutions.
Communications and Networking: The TTP also included training on effective communication techniques, both written and verbal, to enable participants to convey information clearly, collaborate with others, and build relationships with clients and colleagues.
Crucially, the TTP ensures that trainees gain skills that enhance their employability and expand their career prospects. We are thrilled to witness the growth and achievements of our trainees in the past seven months. Following completion of the one-year program in December 2023, we will conduct a final evaluation of the trainees’ performance, and successful participants will be awarded certificates of completion. Outstanding trainees will also have the opportunity to join ATOM as full-time employees.
Stay tuned for updates about the TTP and how ATOM is supporting youths in Myanmar build a Beyond Better future for themselves, the telecoms industry and the country as a whole!
