Yangon, Myanmar, 8 December 2023 – ATOM, Myanmar's leading 4.5G VoLTE network provider, has once again embraced the spirit of the festive and new year season as it launches its ‘Season of Gratitude 2.0’ initiative. This nationwide programme will involve a series of donation and engagement activities, conducted from December 2023 to February 2024, which are designed to uplift communities across Myanmar.
Building upon the success of last year's programme, and guided by the cultural value of sharing gratitude with others, ATOM's ‘Season of Gratitude 2.0’ will extend its impact to over 200 townships across the country, including areas where communities were impacted by natural disasters in recent months.
As part of this initiative, ATOM has allocated more than MMK 560 million to conduct approximately 400 activities, focusing on diverse areas such as education, healthcare, and community support. These planned activities, which are expected to touch the lives of over 112,500 families, include donations of rice and noodles, books and pens, religious contributions, essential items for backyard farming such as vegetable seeds and plant bags, and gift vouchers for grocery shopping. Free on-site medical consultations will also be facilitated through ATOM’s telemedicine programme.
"The ‘Season of Gratitude 2.0’ initiative reflects our deep commitment to the well-being of the communities we serve. This initiative builds on our successful efforts last year and underscores our belief that true connectivity goes beyond providing access to telecommunications services; it's about sharing gestures of kindness that touch the lives of people and encourages shared gratitude. As with last year, ‘Season of Gratitude 2.0’ activities will be supported by our teams and employees at ATOM, who will serve as volunteers. As we embark on these activities, we are reminded that our collective actions have the power to create a positive ripple effect, uplifting and bringing positivity to many," remarked U Win Paing Kyaw, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of ATOM.
The beneficiaries of the ‘Season of Gratitude 2.0’ activities will include monasteries, orphanages, monastic education schools, communities, youths and families, as well as ATOM customers. ATOM has also planned on-ground football-themed activities to engage youths in line with being the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) season in Myanmar.
The ‘Season of Gratitude’ initiative aligns with ATOM's commitment to respect and preserve local values of generosity and solidarity deeply rooted in Myanmar society.
During the inaugural ‘Season of Gratitude’ from October to December 2022, ATOM conducted over 200 donation and engagement activities that positively impacted more than 200,000 people. These activities included donations of rice and food items, contributions of books and pens to orphanages and monastic schools, distribution of Pathan booklets to pilgrims at various pagodas, and various other meaningful endeavours.
ATOM will share updates about its ‘Season of Gratitude 2.0’ activities in the coming weeks on its website: www.atom.com.mm, Facebook page: www.facebook.com/ATOMOfficialPage and LinkedIn page: www.linkedin.com/company/atom-myanmar/.
