ATOM is honoured to achieve ISO 14001:2015 certification, a globally recognised standard for effective Environmental Management Systems (EMS), with the scope covering Head Office Management for Telecom Operations. This milestone reflects ATOM’s strong commitment to managing environmental impacts, reducing risks, and continuously enhancing sustainability across all operations.
As part of its green initiatives, ATOM is actively investing in renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure. Solar panel systems have been upgraded in data centres, and a solar farm is being developed with the goal of reducing 1,500 tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year. Currently, 40% of ATOM build sites are solar-powered. ATOM has also contributed 1,000 trees for reforestation in the Lower Sin Thay Reserved Forest Area, Naypyidaw, with an investment of MMK 15.7 million.

 

ATOM Myanmar is committed to protect the environment by undertaking initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility and support business initiatives using communications services to develop eco-efficient solutions. A key part of this is our environmental management system (EMS), which will be based on the ISO 14001 standard. ATOM Myanmar is in the process of establishing an EMS, with the aim of operations by the end of 2016.
